DataHealth. A harmonized and queryable archive of clinical, biological, imaging, and molecular data designed for biomedical research to improve patient care

Fondazione Michelangelo is proud to announce that Diveedi LAB, Michelangelo Tech, Istituto Oncologico Europeo (IEO), and Qstep srl have been awarded the “Collabora & Innova” call for proposals for the development of the DataHealth platform

For over 25 years, Fondazione Michelangelo (FM) has been committed to the design, promotion, and conduct of independent clinical research projects aimed at improving the therapeutic options for patients affected by solid tumors and, in particular, breast cancer.

FM considers it essential to correlate the clinical results of studies with data derived from biological analyses conducted on samples collected within the same clinical trials, in order to identify specific tumor characteristics associated with better or worse responses to a given treatment, with the goal of optimizing therapeutic strategies.

For this reason, Fondazione Michelangelo has long promoted the establishment of biological sample banks which, through the combined study of clinical, histological, laboratory, and molecular data, can contribute to a deeper understanding of tumor behavior and to improvements in clinical practice.

In this context, Fondazione Michelangelo is proud to announce that Diveedi LAB, Michelangelo Tech, Istituto Oncologico Europeo (IEO), and Qstep srl, as part of a joint project submitted to Regione Lombardia, have been awarded the “Collabora & Innova” call for proposals for the development of the DataHealth platform, to whose conception and development Fondazione Michelangelo has made a fundamental contribution.

DataHealth is an innovative product that can be used by various public and private research institutions. It combines cloud computing, artificial intelligence, advanced encryption, and dynamic anonymization to address a concrete challenge: enabling the secure and compliant management, integration, and sharing of clinical, molecular, laboratory, and imaging data – often fragmented across different institutions and difficult to integrate and fully leverage – in order to accelerate biomedical research and improve patient care.

In particular, within the studies conducted by Fondazione Michelangelo, thanks to the clinical, molecular, imaging, and biological sample databases collected by the foundation as part of its clinical trials, the goal is to optimize treatment outcomes for oncological conditions that represent a significant therapeutic challenge, such as triple-negative breast cancer and HER2-positive breast cancer, and to validate these results in real-world clinical practice.
